Scotty Joseph memorial one to remember!

The first burnout comp of the year, the Scotty Joseph Memorial, is always a top event but this year was one to remember! A massive crowd came to watch the big field of cars send smoke to the heavens. While there was plenty of carnage at this event, the ones that made it through put on a great spectacle.

Just back from Summernats, Laurie Sultana and Benny Circle put on a fierce battle for top spot in the open class and the Scotty trophy (best skid of the night). It was close with only two points separating them, and Benny taking the win. Laurie took home the prized Scotty Joseph trophy.

Winners of the others classes were as follows;

4cyl: Jono Pollock – TOYROTA
6cyl: Russ Pumpa – Black VS Ute
8cyl: Gary – XXXX F100 Truck
Open: Benny Circle – KERMITD
Ladies: Tiny – Purple Hilux

The first tyre smashing event of the year is approaching quickly! As always this is the Scotty Joseph memorial event which attracts a great audience and line up for entrants.

This event also has the perpetual Scotty Joseph trophy, awarded to the best skid of the night. Who will win it this year?

Gates swing open at 2PM with practice until 6PM. Heats and finals follow until 10PM.

Classes are as per normal, 4cyl, 6cyl, 8cyl, open and ladies classes. Prize money and trophies for each class.

Gate entry $10
Competitor nomination $25

NQ PRO Burnouts #4 official Summernats Qualify Event

The NQ PRO Burnouts is not only the biggest tyre smashing event in the North paying big coin to attract the best vehicles across QLD and beyond, but is also now an official qualifying event for the Summernats #26 Burnout Masters. So all you burnout kings out there, get your car ready for the NQ PRO Burnouts this August 11th, Cairns Speedway, for your chance chance to skid with the best and try and take out the coin and a chance for entry to the Summernats #26 Burnout Masters.

2012 dates announced!

So, the wait is finally over! The 2012 dates have come back. The dates for this year are as follows;

April 28th – Scotty Joseph
June 2nd
August 11th – NQ PRO Burnouts #4
September 22nd
November 3rd

There may be test & tune dates through the year. If/when these come about you’ll read about them here or the Facebook group.

Hope to see you all back on the pad, as well as some new comers, in the 2012 season!…
