General

  • No person is permitted on the in-field at any time other than event volunteers, registered drivers, registered passengers, those provided with a media pass or at the discretion of event management.
  • No BYO ALCOHOL at any area inside the grounds.
  • No alcohol is to be taken into the pits or the in-field at any time.
  • No glass bottles in the pits or the in-field.
  • Neither Cairns Burnouts (“we”) nor Cairns International Speedway (“the venue”) will be responsible for any loss or damage to the property (including personal property such as bags, money or other personal items) brought to or purchased at the event by you.
  • You will be liable for any loss or damage caused by you at any event.
  • We reserve the right to cancel or postpone an event for any reason.
  • We may refuse entry or evict you from the venue if you are behaving in an inappropriate manner.
  • There will be no refunds due to poor weather conditions (unless the weather deteriorates before the first round of heats has been completed), if a vehicle breaks down or for any other reason.
  • Any damages caused by you to any property belonging to another person must be paid for by you.

Drivers and passengers

  • All passengers must have a door to exit, therefore, a coupe or ute must only have 2 people in the vehicle including the driver and a sedan 4 people including the driver
  • All drivers and passengers must register at the scrutinising tent.
  • All drivers, passengers and vehicles are accepted at the discretion of event management.
  • Once an entry form has been submitted, your entry cannot be transferred to another driver and you will not be credited.
  • Drivers are permitted to drive another entered vehicle.
  • All drivers and passengers are to remain with their vehicle at all times whilst on the in-field and not wander around.
  • Any person caught doing a burnout or behaving inappropriately in the in-field, the pits or the grounds generally, will be asked to leave the event without a refund and possibly banned from future events.
  • Drivers must not be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol at any time whilst competing.  If we believe you have been drinking or are under the influence of an illicit substance, you will be refused entry to the burnout pad.
  • Drivers and passengers must wear an appropriate helmet (no push bike helmets), long sleeve shirt, long pants and covered footwear.
  • Drivers and passengers must remain in the vehicle when the vehicle is on the burnout pad unless instructed otherwise by an official.
  • Drivers and passengers are not to hang out the window or you will be sent off the pad immediately.
  • Drivers and passengers must wear a seatbelt whilst in the vehicle.
  • Vehicles must pass scrutinising at each event.
  • Drivers must not spin their wheels or unnecessarily drive on the go-kart track at any time.
  • Drivers must not drive unnecessarily on the speedway track.
  • Drivers must adhere to the 10km/h speed limit throughout the speedway grounds.
  • Any dangerous or out-of-control driving, including repeated hitting of barriers, will result in a red light.
  • Drivers are responsible for their own actions and for the actions and/or behaviour of their passenger/s.
  • Event management has the right to terminate a driver’s participation in the event at any stage for whatever reason they see fit.

Vehicle Classes

  • 4 cylinder class – anything with 4 cylinders or a rotary, regardless of make of vehicle, factory or non-factory fitted with power additives i.e.: blown, turboed or nitrous
  • 6 cylinder class – anything with 6 cylinders, regardless of make of vehicle, factory or non-factory fitted with power additives i.e.: blown, turboed or nitrous
  • 8 cylinder class – anything with 8 cylinders, must be naturally aspirated, regardless of make of vehicle, factory or non-factory fitted.
  • OPEN class – anything V8 BLOWN, TURBOED and/or NITROUS induction.
  • Ladies class – there are no restrictions on vehicles or engines. Ladies can also compete in the relevant class with the guys, if they so choose.  They do not have to skid in ladies class.
  • Anyone can enter OPEN class at their own discretion.
  • There are no restrictions on fuels i.e.: Petrol, E85 or Methanol (but will be clearly marked on windscreen).
  • THE PROMOTER HAS THE RIGHT TO MOVE A VEHICLE UP OR DOWN A CLASS IF REQUIRED (based on vehicle performance).

Vehicles

  • Fire extinguisher must be mounted in the cab
  • Neutral start switch must operate in automatic vehicles
  • ALL doors handles inside and out must work
  • Battery must be secure.
  • No loose/dangerous objects to be left in the car.
  • Rear tyres must be covered with guards or tray.
  • No split rims.
  • Throttle return spring must be secure.
  • Passenger compartment must be completely sealed from the engine bay and any fluid lines or tanks, including firewall, must be complete and intact, with no holes.
  • Must have a windscreen.
  • Must not have holes in the car floor pan.
  • No excessive leaks (oil, transmission, steering, brake fluid, etc).
  • No fuel leaks, including fuel tanks.
  • Front brakes must be in good working order.
  • Must be structurally sound at the discretion of the scrutiniser.
  • No wheel weights on rear wheels, inside or out.
  • No broken wheel studs or missing wheel nuts.
  • Overflow bottle must be fitted.
